LAGOS AGRITHON WRAPS UP GRAND FINALE WITH 36 INNOVATIVE AGRIPRENEURS

The Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Systems celebrated the successful conclusion of the 2025 Lagos Agrithon, spotlighting 36 standout agripreneurs at its grand finale. Launched in 2023 by the Lagos Agrinnovation Club, the initiative supports young agripreneurs unconnected to government, aiming to drive food sustainability.

Commissioner Abisola Olusanya praised the competition, which began with over 1,000 business case submissions and narrowed to 36 finalists through rigorous evaluations including pitches, interviews, mentorships, and farm visits. The finalists proposed groundbreaking solutions ranging from patented poultry equipment to aquaculture innovations.

With over N150 million in funding secured, the state government promises support to qualifying finalists. Olusanya emphasized the program’s role as a legacy of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, fostering youth-driven change across Nigeria’s diverse agribusiness landscape.
