Voters in Awka South LGA of Anambra State have urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure that every vote cast in the ongoing governorship election truly counts. Reflecting strong belief in the democratic process, 69-year-old Patrick Ekweozor stressed his early arrival to vote as evidence of faith in transparency and accountability.
Others like David Onyebuchi see the election as a crucial test for INEC’s new chairman, Prof. Joash Amupitan, hoping for free, fair, and credible elections that restore trust. Mathilda Okafor called on INEC to honor the voters’ commitment and ensure no effort goes wasted.
INEC has reaffirmed its readiness to conduct inclusive and transparent elections with 2.82 million registered voters statewide, deploying upgraded voting technology (BVAS) and working closely with security agents to safeguard the process.
