The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) has kicked off the second phase of its planned load management exercise to manage power supply within its franchise, following significant road construction on the 132KV Gwagwalada-Kukwaba-Apo Line II by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA).
The exercise, running from Wednesday to Sunday daily between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., will cause temporary power interruptions in parts of Apo, Lokogoma, Guzape, Asokoro, Wuye, Utako, Jabi, Idu Industrial Area, Karu, Nyanya, Mararaba, Jikwoyi, and Ado. Neighboring areas such as Keffi, Nasarawa Toto, Nasarawa Eggon, and Akwanga may also experience outages.
AEDC apologized for the inconvenience, assuring customers of quick power restoration each day and timely updates on further phases. The company stressed the importance of the exercise to support critical road expansion and to ensure long-term stability and reliability of the power network.
