Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau has assured participants of the 2025 National Universities Games (NUGA), scheduled in Jos, of comprehensive security measures. During an inspection tour at the University of Jos’s sporting facilities, Mutfwang expressed his commitment to a smooth, secure, and successful event.
Established in 1966 to foster university sports, NUGA 2025 is expected to attract over 10,000 athletes between November 6 and 16. Mutfwang praised sports as a powerful tool for unity and commended the University of Jos for its outstanding preparation, promising government support in logistics and safety.
Local Organizing Committee Chair Prof. Ishaya Pam acknowledged current challenges but remained optimistic about overcoming them. Deputy Vice Chancellor Prof. Patricia Gowon conveyed gratitude to the governor for his support.
The 2025 Games are seen as a milestone for the Plateau community, bringing economic opportunities, youth empowerment, and national pride.
