IMO POLICE LAUNCH INVESTIGATION INTO ASSAULT ON WOMAN WHO AIDED POLICE INVESTIGATION

The Imo State Police Command has begun investigating the violent assault of 55-year-old Mrs. Ndididamaka Agu by six men at Emekuku near Owerri. The attack reportedly occurred because Agu cooperated with police officers conducting an investigation in her community.

The incident, captured on video and widely shared online, shows the men beating and kicking Mrs. Agu. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aboki Danjuma, described the act as barbaric and totally unacceptable.

Efforts are underway by the X-Squad Unit to identify and arrest the suspects, who will face charges once apprehended. The police commissioner also warned against jungle justice and intimidation of residents assisting law enforcement, emphasizing zero tolerance for such acts.
