President Bola Tinubu has vowed to deliver a secure, credible national identity management system, key to Nigeria’s development. At the State House on Thursday, he launched the NINAuth App a mobile tool by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) that verifies identity with ease.
Tinubu highlighted how this tech innovation will fight bureaucracy and corruption by allowing government agencies to verify staff data instantly. He described the app as a foundation for financial inclusion, better social services, improved security, and accurate planning.
“The NINAuth App marks a big step in Africa’s largest identity database journey,” he said, urging Nigerians to embrace technology that promotes transparency and trust.
Minister of Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo praised the app as a practical solution to national efficiency, while NIMC Director-General Dr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote revealed that over 126.7 million Nigerians are now enrolled, with an impressive average of 1.3 million daily verifications.
