In the past 48 hours, the Nigerian Army has successfully dismantled multiple terrorist cells, rescued 17 kidnapped victims, and arrested 20 suspects in coordinated military offensives nationwide. A credible source at Army Headquarters confirmed the operations, which spanned the North-East, North-West, North-Central, and South-South regions.
Troops from the 192 Battalion, backed by the Civilian Joint Task Force, engaged ISWAP fighters at Hudugum village, Borno, neutralizing two militants. Notably, three terrorists, including Fannami Ari (aka Abu Dujana) and Hussaini Hassan Modu (aka Abu Yusuf), surrendered citing loss of faith in their leaders.
In Zamfara, soldiers thwarted two kidnapping attempts and freed 11 victims on key transport routes, while in the North-Central region, 15 suspects were apprehended and four victims rescued across Plateau, Benue, Nasarawa, and Kaduna.
The South-South operations led to the closure of two illegal oil refining camps in Bayelsa and the seizure of large stocks of stolen crude in Imo State.
Despite challenges, the Army, under Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Waidi Shaibu, remains steadfast in its mission to restore stability and peace to communities nationwide.
