NCSCN CLEARS NCC OF VICTIMISATION IN 2025 STAFF PROMOTION EXERCISE

The National Civil Society Council of Nigeria (NCSCN) has confirmed that an independent investigation into the Nigerian Communications Commission’s (NCC) 2025 staff promotion exercise found no grievous issues of victimisation or marginalisation. Blessing Akinlosotu, Executive Director of NCSCN, shared the outcome in Abuja, stating that while there were minor administrative glitches, the promotion process was largely fair, transparent, and adhered to public service laws.

Allegations had included claims of regional exclusion and unfair demotions, but NCSCN found that the exercise followed an objective scoring system and complied with the Petroleum Industry Act’s regulations. All eligible staff participated in the exams, and promotions were limited by available vacancies per cadre, not bias.

The NCC leadership under Dr. Aminu Maida was cleared of misconduct, and staff were provided with detailed performance feedback to guide future improvements. NCSCN appealed to the media for cautious reporting and urged affected staff to seek redress through internal channels instead of strikes or public outcries.
