KEBBI DEPUTY SPEAKER ABDUCTED BY SUSPECTED BANDITS, JOINT SECURITY TEAMS MOBILIZED FOR RESCUE

The Kebbi Police Command has confirmed the abduction of Alhaji Muhammad Sama’ila-Bagudo, Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, by suspected bandits in Bagudo LGA. The incident occurred Friday night around 8:20 p.m., shortly after he performed Isha’i prayer.

A joint security force comprising police tactical units, military personnel, and vigilantes has been deployed to track the abductors and rescue the lawmaker safely. The teams are combing bandits’ routes and nearby forests in pursuit.

Kebbi Police Commissioner Bello Sani assured residents of the command’s commitment to protecting lives and urged the public to remain vigilant and support security agencies to maintain peace.

The state government is closely monitoring the situation and working to ensure the lawmaker’s safe release.
