The Anambra State Police Command has intensified efforts to rescue a medical doctor abducted on Thursday in Uruagu, Nnewi North Local Government Area. Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, disclosed the incident and stated that the state Commissioner of Police, Ikioye Orutugu, ordered a full investigation and deployment of tactical teams for the doctor’s safe rescue and the arrest of the kidnappers.
The abduction took place on October 30, under circumstances still being investigated. The police have called on the public to remain calm, vigilant, and provide credible information that could aid the search.
Commissioner Orutugu reaffirmed the police’s commitment to ensuring security and bringing the perpetrators to justice. Anyone with information is urged to contact the nearest police station or the command via provided helplines.
