JUSUN OSUN HOLDS FIRM ON STRIKE UNTIL PROMOTION AND WELFARE DEMANDS ARE MET

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) in Osun State has reaffirmed its ongoing strike over delayed promotions and welfare issues, stating the action will continue until all demands are permanently resolved. State Chairman Idris Adeniran addressed reporters during a protest at the Osun High Court complex in Osogbo.

Since commencing the strike on September 19 to pressure the Judicial Service Commission on 2024 and 2025 promotions, the union has insisted on negotiations through its national body to avoid intimidation. Adeniran highlighted that while the state released promotion circulars for 2025, the reversal of 2023 promotions must be ratified and extended to all judiciary workers eligible for the exercise.

The Nigeria Labour Congress in Osun supports the judiciary workers, urging Chief Judge Justice Adepele Ojo to reconsider her stance, especially since Governor Ademola Adeleke approved promotions for all state workers except judiciary staff.

JUSUN remains committed to securing justice, fairness, and better welfare for its members and vows to continue the strike until the issues are fully addressed.
