ABUJA TO EXPERIENCE PHASED POWER OUTAGES DUE TO FCDA ROAD CONSTRUCTION

The Nigerian Electricity sector has announced a planned load management exercise in Abuja to facilitate road construction by the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA). This exercise will affect the 132kv Gwagwalada-Kukwaba line 2 and will be rolled out in three phases.

The first phase runs from Tuesday, October 28 to Sunday, November 2, daily between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. During this period, light power outages are expected in several areas including Apo, Lokogoma, Lugbe, Pykasa, Kabusa, Games Village, Guzape, Asokoro, Wuye, Utako, Jabi, Idu Industrial Area, Nyanya, Mararaba, Jikwoyi, Ado, Keffi, Nasarawa Toto, Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga, and surrounding environs.

The electricity supply will be restored at the end of each workday. The Nigerian Electricity Management Services Agency (NEMSA) sincerely apologizes for the inconvenience and assures the public that these measures are necessary to ensure network reliability and support ongoing infrastructure development in the city.
