Türkiye marked its 102nd Independence Anniversary with President Recep Erdogan’s message celebrating the nation’s rich heritage and reaffirming its vision for the future. Speaking through Turkish Ambassador to Nigeria, Mehmet Poroy, at a special dinner in Abuja, Erdogan emphasized the country’s journey as a resilient, self-sacrificing nation that has overcome historic hardships to safeguard its freedom and independence.
Highlighting Türkiye’s progress across defense, economy, education, agriculture, tourism, energy, and foreign policy, Erdogan articulated a bold vision for a terror-free, peaceful Türkiye where 86 million citizens live in harmony and prosperity. He pledged ongoing efforts to dismantle threats from “chaos instigators” undermining national unity, stressing the country’s role in promoting justice and peace globally, including mediation in crisis regions like Gaza and Palestine.
The celebration also honored founding father Mustafa Atatürk for laying the foundation of the modern Republic through visionary reforms and leadership during the War of Independence. Erdogan called for national unity and strength in continuing this legacy into the future.
