MAGISTRATE COURT IN OGUDU LOCKS UP MAN FOR STEALING FROM FAMILY AND THREATENING HIS FATHER

A 28-year-old man, Edet Emmanuel, has been sentenced to two years in prison by the Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos after being found guilty of stealing from his own family and threatening to kill his father. Despite facing a four-count charge including stealing, willful damage, and threat to life, Emmanuel pleaded not guilty.

According to court records, Emmanuel stole a total of N430,000 from his father along with valuables from his sister, including cash, a gold necklace, and a wristwatch. He also damaged his father’s entrance door and allegedly threatened his father’s life with the help of cult members.

The magistrate condemned the breach of trust and misconduct within the family and emphasized that leniency was not an option in this case. The police investigations were led by officers from Area H Command, Ogudu.
