MACBAN DEMANDS KEBBI GOVERNMENT TAKE ACTION ON PASTORALIST ATTACKS TO CURB INSECURITY

The Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has called on the Kebbi State Government to immediately arrest and prosecute those responsible for recent deadly attacks on pastoralists in the state. Alhaji Bello Aliyu-Gotomo, MACBAN’s National Secretary, condemned the violence in a statement from Abuja, warning that unchecked impunity worsens the region’s security challenges.

Aliyu-Gotomo described the attacks as a deliberate campaign to displace pastoralists from Kebbi, commending the state government’s swift response to the affected areas while urging stronger law enforcement. He highlighted that continued violence threatens livestock and crop production, further destabilizing the agricultural sector vital to the region.

MACBAN also praised Niger State Governor Umar Bago for decisive actions to halt violence and emphasized the urgent need for greater federal-state collaboration to enhance security in rural communities across Nigeria.
