LAGOS TASK FORCE SEIZES 64 COMMERCIAL MOTORCYCLES IN MAJOR ROAD SAFETY CRACKDOWN

In a bold move to restore order and improve safety on Lagos roads, the Lagos State Task Force seized 64 commercial motorcycles on Monday, October 27. The operation targeted illegal activities by motorcyclists, street traders, and unauthorized park operators across several major highways and inner routes on the Lagos Mainland.

Mrs. Bolanle Ogunlola, Director of Public Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation, said the sweep covered key areas like Ebute Metta, Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway, Oshodi-Apapa Expressway, Lagos-Badagry Expressway, Surulere, and many more. The task force’s actions helped clear blocked routes, ensuring smoother traffic flow.

Ogunlola reminded the public that the Lagos State Transport Sector Reform Law of 2018 prohibits commercial motorcycles from certain highways and major roads, reinforcing the government’s commitment to a cleaner, safer Lagos.
