The Kebbi State Government has firmly dismissed a viral video on social media alleging the presence of a secret airport in Argungu forest being used for cocaine smuggling as false and malicious. The government, through Special Adviser on Media and Publicity Malam Yahaya Sarki, stated that the video is entirely fabricated, aimed at discrediting the state administration.
Sarki clarified that no such airport or illegal operations have ever existed in Argungu or anywhere else in Kebbi State. The only functional airport remains the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport in Birnin Kebbi. He also noted that no investigations by customs, NDLEA, or other agencies support the video’s claims.
Residents are urged to disregard this misinformation, which only aims to cause unrest. The Kebbi government remains committed to transparency, good governance, and working with federal security and anti-drug agencies.
