The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the National Insurance Commission (NAICOM) have inaugurated a Joint Task Force to enforce compulsory third-party motor insurance and digitalize passenger manifests across Nigeria. The ceremony took place in Abuja, led by FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed and NAICOM Executive Commissioner Olusegun Omosehin.
This partnership ushers in a new era of inter-agency collaboration, aiming to boost transparency, accountability, and efficiency in road transport and insurance sectors. By integrating databases and leveraging technology, the task force seeks to ensure compliance with mandatory motor insurance and enhance data-driven enforcement.
Corps Marshal Mohammed emphasized this synergy as a model for reducing road crashes and improving emergency response, aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda focused on digital transformation and inclusive development.
NAICOM’s Omosehin praised the FRSC’s leadership and highlighted the benefits of the collaboration, including effective enforcement, quick compensation for crash victims, and increased public awareness about insurance obligations.
