The Enugu State Police Command pulled off a swift recovery on Monday, October 27, intercepting a MAN Diesel truck stolen earlier that day in Benin City, Edo State. Acting on a distress alert from their Control Room, operatives from Ozalla Division and the Distress Response Squad (DRS) tracked the stolen vehicle to Ozalla along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
When the suspects spotted the police, they abandoned the truck and fled into the nearby bush. The police remain hot on the trail of the fleeing interstate criminals, while the recovered truck is under secure custody for further investigations.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mamman Bitrus Giwa, praised the operatives for their rapid and coordinated response. He also urged residents to stay vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities via hotlines or nearby police stations.
