WARRI–ITAKPE TRAIN SERVICE SET TO RESUME OCTOBER 29 AFTER SERVICE SUSPENSION

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced that the Warri–Itakpe Train Service will officially resume operations on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, following a temporary suspension for critical repairs and maintenance.

Dr. Kayode Opeifa, Managing Director of NRC, confirmed the service suspension was essential for safety checks and track improvements to ensure passenger comfort and reliability. The online ticket booking portal will open by noon on Monday, October 27, allowing passengers to secure tickets in advance.

Operations will begin with seven coaches: six standard class and one business class, and a provisional train timetable including temporary speed restrictions for safety will be released alongside the portal opening.

The NRC expressed apologies for previous inconveniences and assured travelers of their commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and efficient rail services along the Warri–Itakpe route.
