Polish intelligence has arrested two Ukrainian nationals, a 32-year-old man and a 34-year-old woman, in Katowice on charges of spying for a foreign intelligence service. The suspects allegedly installed surveillance devices on critical infrastructure, focusing on transport routes used for military and logistical support to Ukraine.

Authorities revealed the duo gathered intelligence on Polish Armed Forces and vital facilities, jeopardizing national security. A court has ordered their pre-trial detention for three months.

Poland, a NATO and EU member, is a key ally to Ukraine amid ongoing conflict with Russia and faces heightened sabotage threats. Recently, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk disclosed the arrest of eight suspected saboteurs, reflecting ongoing security challenges.
