At the 9th Coronation Anniversary Thanksgiving Service for the Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, held at the historic Holy Aruosa Cathedral in Benin on Sunday, Presiding Priest Dr. Mrs. Halima Tafida-Wase urged leaders in authority to uphold justice to foster peace across Nigeria.
She emphasized the critical role of leaders in dispute resolution and promoting harmonious coexistence in the Benin Kingdom. Dr. Mrs. Tafida-Wase encouraged worshippers to embrace godliness and warned that ignoring moral duties may have dire consequences.
She also called on parents and authorities to actively combat illicit drug use and trafficking, especially among youths in Edo, stressing accountability.
Among dignitaries present were prominent Benin Chiefs, representatives of Oba of Benin’s ancestral relations, Edo State House of Assembly Speaker Chief Blessing Agbebaku, members of the Benin Royal family, and political aspirants, all standing in solidarity during this significant cultural and spiritual celebration.
