Nigeria’s Super Falcons kicked off their 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with a confident 2-0 away win over Bénin Republic in Lomé, Togo. The team started strong with Rasheedat Ajibade hitting the woodwork just six minutes in, setting the tone for a commanding performance.

Deborah Abiodun opened the scoring in the 23rd minute with a precise assist to Chiwendu Ihezuo, who calmly put the ball in the net. Esther Okoronkwo sealed the win before halftime after another brilliant pass from Abiodun, doubling the advantage.

Though Bénin tried to stage a comeback in the second half, the Falcons maintained control and resilience, shutting down late pressure until the final whistle.
