TINUBU PLEDGES BOOST FOR INNOVATION, RESEARCH, AND SKILLS AT UNILORIN’S 40TH CONVOCATION

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his commitment to advancing innovation, research, and skill-based education in Nigerian universities during the University of Ilorin’s 40th Convocation Ceremony. Represented by FUTA’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Temidayo Oladiji, Tinubu praised UNILORIN’s academic discipline and excellence, highlighting its role as a flagship institution preparing Nigeria’s youth for global competition.

The President announced that UNILORIN will be one of the host universities for the National Universities Commission’s Digital Innovation Hub, designed to strengthen digital skills and entrepreneurship. He also revealed a N110 billion federal investment to upgrade medical training facilities, aligning with efforts to expand the healthcare workforce. Despite economic challenges, Tinubu assured Nigerians that reforms will build a stronger, more inclusive economy and encouraged graduates to embrace technology and innovation as the future unfolds.
