PDP BOARD OF TRUSTEES DENIES FORGERY CLAIMS BY NATIONAL SECRETARY, AFFIRMS SIGNATURE AUTHENTICITY

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed as false and baseless the allegations made by the party’s National Secretary, Sen. Samuel Anyanwu, who claimed his signature was forged on official correspondence to INEC regarding the party’s upcoming national convention.

In a statement by BoT Chairman Sen. Adolphus Wabara, the BoT clarified that the contentious INEC notification letter was jointly signed by Anyanwu and National Chairman Umar Damagum at the 102nd National Executive Committee meeting on August 25, 2025, witnessed by key party stakeholders including governors and BoT members.

Wabara stated that Anyanwu has since formally signed several communications as Sub-Committee Secretary for the convention planning, and all verified documents bearing his signature are held by the party. The BoT labeled Anyanwu’s forgery claims as misleading and a deliberate attempt to question the party’s integrity and misinform the public.

The BoT reaffirmed its commitment to democratic values, transparency, and internal unity, assuring members that the forthcoming PDP convention will be credible and unifying. They called on party supporters to disregard the claims and stand with the PDP leadership.
