The Federal Government has introduced the Automated National Standing Orders (NSOs) Mobile App, a game-changer for primary healthcare across Nigeria. Unveiled by Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr Iziaq Salako, in Abuja, the app turns traditional clinical manuals into interactive digital tools to improve accuracy, treatment speed, and data tracking for community health practitioners.
Developed by the Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria (CHPRBN) with support from the Health Information System Agency (HISA), this innovation supports President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, emphasizing digital solutions for transparency and efficiency. The app will be free and compulsory for all registered community health workers, with a full rollout planned by 2027.
Dr Salako encouraged health workers to embrace the app responsibly, highlighting its role in standardizing care and advancing Nigeria’s goal of universal health coverage, especially for mothers and children. This digital leap promises to strengthen healthcare at the grassroots and ensure no Nigerian is left behind.
