The Kwara State chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) has called on the state government and security agencies to thoroughly investigate the alleged killings of Fulani residents in Edu Local Government Area. The association, led by Alhaji Shehu Garba, expressed deep concern over poor handling of incidents affecting Fulani lives and properties.
Findings show at least 20 Fulani lives lost in Oke Ode, Omu-Aran, and Gbugbu, alongside missing livestock and destruction of grains and shelters. Alhaji Garba raised the alarm about attacks allegedly carried out by individuals in government-approved vigilante uniforms and the unexplained disappearance of five Fulani men detained during stop-and-search operations.
MACBAN demands fairness, urging the government to compensate affected Fulani victims equally as done for other groups, and to ensure justice through thorough investigations. The call stresses the need for equal treatment and security for the Fulani community in Kwara.
