CUSTOMS PTML COMMAND RAKES IN ₦350.3 BILLION IN NINE MONTHS

The Ports Terminal Multiservices Ltd. (PTML) Command of the Nigeria Customs Service has reported an impressive revenue generation of ₦350.3 billion from January to September 2025. Comptroller Joe Anani, the Customs Area Controller, revealed this achievement in Lagos, noting it represents 96.64% of the ₦362.5 billion collected for the entire year of 2024.

In the third quarter of 2025 alone, the command generated ₦116.2 billion, marking a remarkable 34.3% increase from ₦86.5 billion in the same period last year. The growth was realized despite initial teething challenges with the B’Odogwu trade platform, which are steadily being addressed.

The command intercepted containers falsely declared to conceal pharmaceutical drugs, including one with 6,262 cartons of antibiotics and another with unregistered medicines plus a tactical airsoft pistol and live ammunition. These seizures were promptly handed over to NAFDAC for further investigation.

Comptroller Anani commended the strong collaboration with sister agencies and urged importers and exporters to comply with customs regulations, emphasizing that compliance reduces time, costs, and improves business credibility.

Dr. Olakunle Olaniran, Director of NAFDAC’s Port Inspection Division, applauded the partnership with Customs in safeguarding public health and urged citizens to patronize only registered pharmaceutical vendors.
