China and Africa have once again doubled down on their commitment to fast-track the implementation of their shared China-Africa Cooperation 2035 Vision, focusing on building a peaceful, sustainable, and people-centered community. This commitment was underlined during the 6th Abuja Forum themed “Deepening the Implementation of the China-Africa Cooperation 2035 Vision: Forging a Closer China-Africa Community with a Shared Future.”
At the forum, virtual remarks from global leaders like Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, highlighted the importance of this cooperation amid global economic challenges. She noted the opportunity for Africa to leverage shifts in global supply chains to boost industrialization and value addition, with China playing a key role in investing, transferring technology, and creating jobs.
The partnership also emphasizes peace and security as pillars for development, with stakeholders like retired Lt.-Gen. Aliyu Gusau calling for practical action beyond dialogue. Chinese institutions reaffirmed their readiness to deepen collaboration, while Nigerian business leaders and peace experts stressed the importance of shared prosperity and strategic policy support.
The forum marks a strong milestone in China-Africa cooperation, with a focus on turning visionary goals into lasting development and inclusive growth across Africa.
