NNAMDI KANU DROPS LEGAL TEAM TO DEFEND HIMSELF IN TERRORISM TRIAL

Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the banned Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has decided to represent himself in court after his entire legal team, led by Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, withdrew from his ongoing trial at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Speaking directly to Justice James Omotosho, Kanu challenged the court’s jurisdiction and announced his readiness to personally defend against terrorism charges.

Kanu listed prominent figures including former AGF Abubakar Malami, ministers, governors, and military officials as witnesses he intends to call, demanding a 90-day trial period to complete his defence. The move marks a major development in a case tied to his alleged role in separatist activities and follows his re-arrest and prolonged detention by the Department of State Services (DSS).
