NIGERIAN ARMY HOLDS INTENSE CROSS COUNTRY RACE TO BOOST TROOP READINESS

Over 288 soldiers from different divisions in Nigeria competed in a grueling 10-kilometer cross country race hosted by the Army Headquarters Garrison in Abuja. The race took them through rugged terrains, mountains, and valleys, testing their endurance, teamwork, and combat preparedness.

Flagged off by the Chief of Army Staff Lt.-Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, the race’s goal was to build physical strength, enhance operational readiness, and foster camaraderie among troops. The event also aimed to develop leadership qualities in junior commanders, ensuring Nigeria’s army remains sharp and battle-ready.

This race isn’t just about physical fitness — it’s about building a disciplined, resilient force capable of defending Nigeria under any circumstances.
