YOBE UNVEILS BOLD 3-YEAR PLAN TO HARNESS YOUTHFUL ENERGY FOR GROWTH

Yobe State is set to transform its future with a new three-year strategic plan for Human Capital Development and Demographic Dividends running from 2025 to 2027. Deputy Governor Idi Barde Gubana revealed that the plan, developed with Lafiya-UK, aims to harness the huge potential of Yobe’s young population, which makes up 65% of residents aged 5 to 15.

The strategy merges human capital development with demographic dividends for a fresh approach that’s already attracting attention nationwide. With investments in healthcare, education, and skills, the plan promises to build resilience, promote equity, and boost innovation—helping Yobe become a model for other states.

Gubana urged all stakeholders to join hands to ensure success, while praising President Bola Tinubu for making human capital development a priority under his Renewed Hope Agenda. Development partners like Dr Usman Gwarzo of Lafiya-UK hailed Yobe’s leadership, noting the state’s strong performance across key health indicators.
