The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) reports that more than eight million Nigerians have begun their voter registration through a pre-online process as part of the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) nationwide. So far, 1.7 million have completed the full registration, including biometric capture and verification.
INEC’s update reflects strong public interest ahead of upcoming elections, with the commission urging all eligible citizens to register via the online portals or at physical centers across the country. This surge in registrations shows a growing commitment to strengthening Nigeria’s democratic process.
