FAAN AIMS FOR FULL ISO CERTIFICATION BY DECEMBER TO BOOST AIRPORT QUALITY AND SAFETY

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) announced its bold target to achieve full ISO certification by December 2025, setting a new benchmark for service quality, operational safety, and environmental care across the nation’s airports. FAAN’s Managing Director, Mrs. Olubunmi Kuku, revealed the move during the unveiling of the integrated ISO Policy in Lagos.

The policy merges ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management and ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management into one framework, institutionalizing excellence in every aspect of airport operations. With about 70% of the certification process complete, FAAN is readying for a critical external audit in November to close gaps and confirm compliance.

FAAN is committed to managing Nigeria’s airports with international best practices, ensuring not just efficiency and security but also environmental stewardship and community support. Director of Special Duties, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, emphasized that the upcoming audits will measure FAAN’s dedication to quality, customer satisfaction, and responsible business conduct.
