The ten-time African champions, Nigeria’s Super Falcons, have started their training camp in Lomé, Togo, as they prepare for their 2026 Women Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) final qualifying match against Benin Republic. Leading the early arrivals was six-time Africa Player of the Year Asisat Oshoala, joined by new call-up Joy Omewa and key players like Tosin Demehin and Folashade Ijamilusi.
Head Coach Justine Madugu confirmed training starts Monday afternoon ahead of the first leg set for Friday at the 25,000-capacity Stade de Kégué. The second leg will take place at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta on October 28. The qualifier also doubles as Africa’s qualifying tournament for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Brazil. With a strong squad featuring domestic stars and internationals from clubs in England, Mexico, Portugal, and Saudi Arabia, the Falcons remain firm favorites to advance.
