The National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) is gearing up for its third International Conference on Open-Source Linux, Advanced Machine Learning, and Applied Interdisciplinary STEM research this November at the UBEC Centre, Abuja. This landmark event aims to modernise Nigeria’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and boost its standing in the global AI ecosystem.
In partnership with U.S.-based MOC-LLC, NBTE is building AI and open-source skills among Polytechnic lecturers, positioning Nigerian institutions as Africa’s hubs for innovation and digital transformation. The conference will showcase applied research projects that promise job creation and entrepreneurial growth by 2026.
This collaboration now extends to Ethiopia, spotlighting growing Pan-African efforts to empower lecturers and students with critical machine learning and AI skills to lead Africa’s tech future.
