After a rocky start to the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League season, Kano Pillars have suspended their Technical Adviser, Ogenyi Evans, and Chief Coach, Ahmed Garba, as the club looks to turn around its fortunes. With just two wins from eight league games, the management says this move aims to reposition the team for better results.
Former captain and Assistant Coach Gambo Muhammad, along with Goalkeeping Coach Suleiman Shuaibu, will take over the team temporarily, supported by Junior Pillars coach Garzali Muhammad in an ad-hoc role. The club urged fans to stay loyal as it works to restore the winning spirit.
The suspension follows a tough 2-1 defeat to Barau FC and crowd trouble penalties that have forced the club to play 10 home games behind closed doors, fined ₦9.5 million, and docked three points and goals, intensifying pressure on the team currently sitting bottom in 20th place.
