HARRY MAGUIRE’S LATE HEADER ENDS MANCHESTER UNITED’S ANFIELD DROUGHT WITH 2-1 WIN OVER LIVERPOOL

Manchester United finally broke their nine-year winless streak at Anfield with a thrilling 2-1 victory over Liverpool, thanks to a late header from Harry Maguire that dashed the reigning champs’ title hopes.

Bryan Mbeumo stunned Liverpool with an early goal within the first minute, aided by Amad Diallo. Despite Liverpool’s furious response, with Cody Gakpo equalizing in the 78th minute after hitting the post three times, Maguire sealed the game in the 84th minute with a towering header from Bruno Fernandes’ cross.

Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk admitted the team’s second goal conceded was sloppy and urged his teammates to keep working hard during this challenging phase, as the Reds suffer their fourth consecutive loss—their worst run since 2014.
