Police in Bauchi have arrested six suspects linked to a horrific attack on a seven-year-old girl in Wailo community, Ganjuwa LGA. The girl’s older brother, along with an accomplice, allegedly lured her into a bush, attempted to kill her, and forcibly removed her eyes for suspected ritual purposes, leaving her permanently blind.
The victim was treated at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital where doctors confirmed the irreversible damage. Police spokesman Ahmed Wakil condemned the act as barbaric and confirmed the suspects were caught at the scene on October 17. The case has been handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a thorough probe, with ongoing efforts to bring all responsible parties to justice.
