The security landscape in Nigeria’s North East is turning a corner! Lt.-Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, Theatre Commander of Operation Hadin Kai, reports significant gains through coordinated military efforts and agency synergy.
Since November last year, despite increased threats like armed drones and IEDs, Nigerian forces have neutralized 26 key terrorist commanders and cleared many insurgent camps. Communities are bouncing back with reopened markets, schools, and safer roads, signaling progress towards lasting peace.
Additional troop deployments in vulnerable areas like Kirawa have strengthened border security, while civil cooperation remains vital to sustaining these gains. Troops are motivated and focused on flushing out terrorists from strongholds such as Sambisa Forest and Lake Chad Islands.
