Kwara State Police are making waves in their fight against crime! In a recent offensive, they arrested 16 suspects involved in kidnapping, armed robbery, homicide, child abuse, and drug trafficking, while seizing 50 live rounds of ammunition.
Police Commissioner Adekimi Ojo highlighted the success came from solid intelligence and strong teamwork with other security forces. Among the arrested were six suspected kidnappers and a homicide suspect accused of decapitating a motorcycle mechanic. The commissioner also raised alarm over the increasing number of teenagers caught in serious crimes, emphasizing these young offenders will face the full force of the law.
With insecurity rising across several local government areas, the state government has urged residents to stay vigilant and restrict outdoor movement as security operations intensify, especially in border towns believed to be criminal hideouts. This collective vigilance and moral guidance from families, teachers, and religious leaders is crucial to curbing juvenile crime and restoring peace.
