KEYAMO CALLS FOR STRONG JUDICIARY-REGULATOR TEAMWORK TO BOOST AVIATION SAFETY

Aviation safety gets a major push! Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo urges judges and regulators to unite for consistent, trustworthy air travel in Nigeria.

Speaking at the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Conference in Abuja, Keyamo highlighted the need for judges to understand aviation’s technical and international law aspects to deliver fair justice that builds passenger and investor confidence.

He praised the NCAA for bridging the communication gap with the judiciary, saying, “When regulators and judges sing from the same sheet, aviation wins.”

NCAA Director-General Capt. Chris Najomo stressed that clear, purposeful law interpretation is key to building aviation safety, fairness, and trust. Minister of Justice Justice Lateef Fagbemi urged judges to balance international conventions with national interest in their rulings.

Collaboration among all stakeholders, Keyamo said, is essential for a safe, accountable, and just aviation system Nigeria can proudly stand behind.
