INDIA BOOSTS GIRLS’ EMPOWERMENT IN NIGERIA WITH GIFT PACKS FOR DUTSE STUDENTS

Investing in girls today means a brighter tomorrow! The Indian High Commission celebrates the International Day of the Girl Child by empowering 2,000 girls at Government Girls Secondary School, Dutse.

The High Commission, led by Ambassador Abhishek Singh, donated gift packs as part of global efforts to promote gender equality and women’s empowerment. Singh praised the critical role girls play in building inclusive societies and shared India’s success with its “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” initiative, which boosted women’s workforce participation and education.

Recognising Nigeria’s youthful population, Singh emphasized stronger India-Nigeria ties and Indian companies’ contributions in Nigeria. Local officials affirmed their commitment to creating safe, supportive learning environments where girls can thrive, dream boldly, and lead fearlessly.
