Changing Nigerian universities isn’t a one-man job! Attorney General Lateef Fagbemi says transforming higher education requires teamwork—government, universities, students, and society all rising to the challenge.
Speaking at the Federal University Lokoja’s convocation, Fagbemi said that with Kogi as the backdrop, the sector’s challenges go beyond any single institution. He highlighted the need for enabling policies and leadership, urging universities to embrace change and students to commit fully.
Fagbemi praised President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which puts education and digital growth central to Nigeria’s future. With 67 new specialized institutions launched recently, the focus is on fields like agriculture, health sciences, and tech key for diversifying Nigeria’s economy.
