At a seminar during the IMF/World Bank meetings in Washington, Heirs Holdings Chairman Tony Elumelu emphasized that true productivity isn’t just output per worker but opportunity per person. He highlighted Africa’s infrastructure challenges but reminded everyone how the continent leapfrogged ahead with mobile tech and financial inclusion.
Elumelu stressed that investments in electricity and digital infrastructure must be inclusive, warning AI could deepen inequality if mismanaged. He praised his foundation’s work supporting young African entrepreneurs, calling youth empowerment key to global productivity gains.
