Kebbi is stepping up healthcare with a multi-billion naira boost to rehab key hospitals, promising better health services for thousands across the state.
Kebbi Executive Council has approved N4.05 billion for the rehabilitation of seven general hospitals including those in Kambaza, Suru, Kamba, Dirin-Daji, Kangiwa, Koko, and Yauri. This move is part of Governor Nasir Idris’s commitment to upgrading healthcare infrastructure. So far, 16 hospitals have been rehabilitated, including Argungu General Hospital, with others like Sir Yahaya Memorial already being worked on.
The governor assures that all 30 general hospitals will be rehabilitated before his term ends. Additionally, N570 million has been allocated to register 45,000 vulnerable people under the state’s healthcare scheme, aiming to improve access to affordable care.
The council also approved rehabilitation for primary healthcare centers, funding for subsidized drugs, procurement of 2,000 power tillers to boost agriculture, and N1.4 billion for school furniture to enhance education environments.
The government appeals for public support to sustain these improvements and improve living standards across Kebbi State.
