At the 2025 International Day of the Girl-Child in Abuja, the Federal Government reaffirmed its dedication to advancing quality education for girls, calling it key to national progress.
Minister of State for Education, Prof. Suwaiba Ahmad, highlighted efforts like the National Policy on Gender in Basic Education, scholarships, school feeding programs, and safe learning spaces. She stressed listening to girls’ voices and involving communities in empowering them.
Mrs. Amina Haruna, AGILE Project Coordinator, urged all stakeholders to tackle challenges girls face—like gender violence and early marriage—and invest in leadership and safe spaces.
The message is clear: girls are vital to building strong, inclusive families and societies.
