The Nigerian Film Corporation (NFC) says the Zuma International Film Festival (ZUFF) has grown into a worldwide symbol of vibrant storytelling, spotlighting filmmakers and audiences who bring African narratives to life. At a press event in Abuja, NFC’s MD Dr. Ali Nuhu unveiled the 2025 festival theme, “Storytelling for Global Influence: Film as a Soft Power and Economic Force,” highlighting how film shapes culture, perception, and economic growth. With over 3,156 films submitted from Nigeria and countries like India, France, China, and the U.S., Zuma continues Nigeria’s rise as a global creative powerhouse. Dr. Nuhu praised government support, especially from Minister Hannatu Musawa and President Bola Tinubu, for fueling the industry’s growth. He invited filmmakers, investors, and partners to join in making Zuma 2025 a landmark celebration of African creativity, reminding us: “Until the lion learns to write, every story will glorify the hunter. Today, we are teaching our lions to write.”
