Oyo State is stepping up its game in healthcare, with a stronger primary care system and special attention to maternal and child health, says Health Commissioner Dr. Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi. Speaking at the launch of a five-day workshop on the Maternal and Neonatal Mortality Reduction Innovation Initiative (MAMII) in Ibadan, she highlighted new referral systems, better access to skilled birth attendants, and cutting-edge digital health tools. Dr. Ajetunmobi emphasized that this effort is a team game involving government, donors, community leaders, and families, all working together to ensure no woman dies in childbirth and every child starts healthy.
The workshop is more than just a program—it’s a movement for innovation and collaboration. With voices from health workers, mothers, and partners shaping the solutions, MAMII aims to create lasting health improvements that fit Oyo’s unique needs. Dr. Ajetunmobi praised the federal government and technical partners, calling for united action to build a future of healthier mums, safer births, and thriving communities across the state.
