Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, has warmly congratulated Mr. Danlami Nmodu, the newly elected President of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP). Speaking through his media aide, Malam Rabiu Ibrahim, Idris praised Nmodu, publisher of Newsdiary Online, as a seasoned journalist deserving this top role. He also commended outgoing President Mrs. Maureen Chigbo for her strong leadership and lasting legacy of growth and credibility.
Idris urged Nmodu and his team to foster unity and inclusive leadership within GOCOP, emphasizing the need to combat fake news and misinformation that threaten journalistic integrity. He called for close collaboration with his ministry to promote media literacy and uphold trust in Nigeria’s digital media space, trusting Nmodu’s career built on accountability and courage to lead the Guild into a strong, united future.
